Full civil and structural engineering design services provided from tender through to completion and hand over, including BCAR certification. 
 
Demolition of existing 1970s buildings industrial buildings and site clearance, including construction of a 9,000sqm commercial building of 5 storeys over part basement, comprising office, ground floor retail, civic use (artist studios / exhibition spaces in enclosed external courtyard). 
 
This is a prominent corner building on Newmarket Square. The square is undergoing significant redevelopment / regeneration with various new buildings constructed, under construction or at planning stage. 
 
The project had significant challenges in the ground including contaminated ground and extensive archaeology along the Mill Street. ( Newmarket Square is an archaeology rich environment of old buried streets, houses, tanneries and lime kilns dating back to 1700’s) 
 
SuDS measures employed included: extensive green roofs (sedum) to upper levels and intensive green roof over part ground floor courtyard, as well as rainwater harvesting. Surface water attenuation system to limit outfall to 1litre/sec, in accordance with GDSDS
