Ciarán joined Barrett Mahony in 1996 and has progressed from Graduate to Managing Director. Ciarán is a Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland and the Institution of Structural Engineers since 2000. As an FConsEI with the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland (ACEI), He was honoured to be President of the Association for the 2018 / 2019 term. He maintains an involvement in professional bodies and sits on the Structures Committee and sub-committees . He has been awarded Branch Prize from the IStructE, ACEI and European CEO of the year award from ACE(UK).
Ciarán has always enjoyed continuing to provide active hands-on involvement and maintains close contact and engagement. Past Projects include The Shelbourne Hotel refurbishment and extension, Smithfield Village development, Clarion Quay Development, Coopers Cross Development and Kildare Street Offices. These projects demonstrate an enthusiasm for conservation and more complicated interactions between new and old works, Modern Methods of Construction and sustainable development. He is a regular contributor to technical consultations and an occasional Guest lecturer and External Examiner at TUD and Third Level Colleges.

Vincent co-founded Barrett Mahony, with Brian Mahony, in 1994, having worked previously with a number of consulting practices as well as a local authority. Vincent is currently involved in a number of large-scale residential projects in Ireland, as well as high rise modular projects in the UK.
Notable projects include Claremont residential Howth Dublin (600 units), 101 George St Croydon London (550 units in the world’s tallest modular structure) and 10 Trinity Square London (5-star hotel and Grade II listed building).

Brian graduated from UCD in 1978 and in the years from 1978 to 1992 worked in several consulting engineering practices both in Ireland and UK. In 1992 Brian returned to Ireland and was instrumental in setting up the Civil & Structural Engineering Department for the Project Management Group. In 1994, along with Vincent Barrett, he co-founded Barrett Mahony. His time in the UK included a 1 year sabbatical in the Steel Construction Institute in Ascot, Berkshire where he produced an SCI Report on "The Design of Facade Retention Systems for Building Refurbishment". In 1995, following on from that research, Brian won the IStructE ROI Branch award for his technical paper on the design of Facade Retention systems and was subsequently involved in the development of the CIRIA Best Practice Guide C579 on the design of same.
Since founding Barrett Mahony in 1994 Brian has been Project Director for various projects including Office, Retail, Residential, Industrial, Educational, Healthcare, Leisure, Conservation / Restoration, Civil etc. Notable Projects include : UCD Student Residences (2000 bed), Player Wills & Bailey Gibson residential (1350 units), Cherrywood (700 units), Eaton Corporation Head Office, Microsoft HQ Sandyford, The Guinness Enterprise Centre, The AIG HQ IFSC and Dublin City Hall Refurbishment.

John graduated from UCD in 1988 and worked in a number of high profile engineering consultancy practices in Ireland and the UK, before joining Barrett Mahony in 1994, close to it's inception. John is a Chartered Member of Engineers Ireland since 1993 and of the Institution of Structural Engineers since 1995. He is a Registered Fellow with the ACEI (FConsEI).
Since joining Barrett Mahony John has been project engineer or project director on a wide variety of projects in Ireland, the UK and further afield, covering the full spectrum of Civil and Structural engineering work including residential, industrial, commercial, educational, civil engineering, temporary works design, conservation and refurbishment works.
Notable Projects include: Newmarket Square Hotel & Residential Development, Dublin, the Frascati Centre
redevelopment, Blackrock, Co. Dublin, Lidl HQ building, Tallaght, 3 no. research buildings on the NUI Galway Campus, the Roches Stores Building (latterly Debenhams) which was awarded a prize by the ACEI , Henry St Dublin, the OPW headquarters Trim, Co. Stephen joined Barrett Mahony in 1999 as a graduate engineer and by 2004 had achieved Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Structural Engineers and Engineers Ireland. In early 2010 he assisted with establishing BMCE's London office and worked on a number of residential and commercial projects before returning to Dublin in 2014. Stephen was appointed a Director in 2016 and has contributed to expanding the practice. His experience spans a number of sectors including residential, commercial, conservation and refurbishment, educational, civil engineering and temporary works.
Some notable projects include 76 Sir John Rogerson Quay office and residential development, No.5 Hanover Quay office, No. 6 Hanover Quay residential, Griffith Woods residential, Malahide Road residential, the Oval Ballsbridge offices, No.26/27 Grafton Street retail and offices, Plough Road Battersea residential and student accommodation developments at Thomas Street, Montpelier Hill and Main Street Ballymun. Stephen was also Project Director for the restoration of the historic 14 Henrietta Street, Dublin 1 which won the ACEI Engineering Excellence Award for Medium Projects in 2019.

Michael joined Barrett Mahony in 2018, having previously held the position of Regional Director for a large UK headquartered PLC consultancy firm. Michael leads a team of engineers and technicians engaged in a wide range of Commercial , Residential, Hotel and Data Centre projects over the last number of years. Michael also has provided building damage and defect investigation services for Insurance companies and provided Technical Expert services in legal disputes.
Notable projects include Phase 1B and 2 of Irish Glass Bottle residential site Dublin 4 (825 units), Merrion Road Hotel Booterstown and 'The Eight Building' office development Newmarket Dublin 8 and tender design for TC1 retail development Cherrywood (60,000sqm).

Ciarán joined Barrett Mahony as a Graduate Engineer in 2005. In 2008 he emigrated to Australia where he worked with The O’Neill Group Consulting Engineers (2008-2017). There, he progressed from Design Engineer to Principal Structural Engineer while working on a variety of medium to large scale residential, mixed-use, commercial, healthcare and education projects with construction values up to AUS $150m and up to 36 stories in height.
Ciarán returned permanently from Australia and rejoined Barrett Mahony in 2017 to lead a team of engineers and technicians on a variety of interesting and challenging structural and civil engineering projects. He was appointed as a Director in 2023. Through his national and international experience, Ciarán has gained particular knowledge in the design of post-tensioned concrete floor systems, precast concrete structures and deep basement construction. Notable Projects include: Bonham Quay Offices Galway (34,405m2), The Dublin One Hotel and Big Tree Pub Renovation North Circular Road Dublin, the Player Wills & Bailey Gibson residential developments South Circular Road Dublin (1350 units), Telephone House Redevelopment, Marlborough Street Dublin 1 and 73 North Wall Quay Office Dublin 1.

Shane joined Barrett Mahony in 2010 as a graduate engineer in the Dublin office and moved to the London office in 2014 before being appointed Director in 2022. Shane has led the structural design for a range of prestigious projects in London and Dublin. He has particular expertise in the design of high-rise modular structures and been deeply involved in the research and development of the traditional construction elements of these projects over the past decade as modular construction reached the height of skyscrapers.
Shane's projects have twice broken the record for the world’s tallest modular building; the 44 storey Ten Degrees in Croydon, London (2021) and the neighbouring 49 Storey College Road project (2023); both winning the ACEI Engineering Excellence Award for overseas project of the year and the former winning the award for Structural Engineering Excellence at the 2022 CTBUH Annual Awards in Chicago.

Owen joined the London Office of Barrett Mahony in 2010 as a Graduate Engineer and by 2015 had achieved Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Structural Engineers and Engineers Ireland. Owen has been at the forefront of the development of the London Office and was appointed a Director in 2022. Owen has experience across a variety of sectors, including residential, commercial, conservation, refurbishment, and industrial projects. Owen has a particular passion for the repurposing and extension of existing structures, to provide solutions with low embodied carbon.
Notable projects include 10 Trinity Square (5 star hotel and Grade II* listed building), One Olympic Way,Wembley (346 units); Hastings Road, Ealing (448 units); Burnt Mills, Harlow (172 units plus commercial space); Baddesley EfW Facility (10.5 MWe); and Bray Film Studios.
Owen was awarded a Regional Group Award and the Sir Arnold Waters Medal by the Institution of Structural Engineers for the paper '10 Trinity Square'.

Rouslan joined Barrett Mahony in 2004 as a Design engineer in the Dublin office, having worked previously with a number of structural engineering consultancy practices in Bulgaria and Ireland. The same year he had achieved Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland. In early 2006 he was promoted to Structural Project engineer. During his practice in BMCE Ireland he acted as Civil and Structural Engineer in a broad range of projects including healthcare, residential, commercial. In early 2013 he joined Barrett Mahony UK in our London office and in 2014 was appointed Associate Director, overseeing a variety of projects in sectors including residential, healthcare, educational, commercial, refurbishment and temporary works. In 2016 Rouslan assisted with establishing BMCE's Sofia office in Bulgaria and was appointed Regional Director, managing a team of ten plus Structural Design engineers.

Patricia joined Barrett Mahony in 2014 as Financial Controller, bringing over 12 years’ accounting experience having previously worked in the Construction Industry in Ireland and New York. Patricia is a highly motivated talented financial professional responsible for managing the delivery of finance strategy including accounting, financial reporting, project reporting and overseeing daily financial aspects of the practice.

John joined Barrett Mahony in 2014. Prior to that, John worked his way from Graduate Engineer , Design Engineer and Project Engineer in a number of engineering practices in Ireland.
John has been involved in a full spectrum of projects including educational, residential, industrial and commercial. Notable Projects include: 10-12 Hanover Quay , Irish Stock Exchange Development, Trinity City Hotel Extension and Bord na Mona Headquarters Newbridge.

Liam joined Barrett Mahony (London office) in 2012, and returned to the Dublin Office in 2015. Prior to commencing
work with Barrett Mahony, Liam completed a research Masters in Structural Engineering in the Dublin Institute of
Technology. Liam has worked on the design and construction of various residential and commercial projects, as well as providing temporary works design services to demolition contractors and main contractors.

Mark is a Chartered Structural Engineer who joined Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers (BMCE) in 2015. Before joining BMCE, Mark gained valuable experience working with Canadian structural engineering consultancies and at one of Hungary's leading multidisciplinary engineering companies, specializing in the design of public buildings and highway bridges. Since joining BMCE, Mark has contributed to the structural design of numerous prestigious projects in London. Mark holds a master's degree in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and achieved chartered status with the Institute of Structural Engineers in 2020. His areas of expertise include bridge design, earthquake engineering, large-scale concrete and steel frame buildings, basement excavations, modular construction, and high-rise residential developments.

Philip joined Barrett Mahony London in 2015 after spending a year in the Dublin office. Since joining, Philip has been involved in a wide variety of projects across the UK covering the full spectrum of structural engineering work including residential, industrial, commercial, refurbishment/conservation and temporary works design.
Philip holds a master's degree in Structural Engineering from University College Dublin and achieved chartered status with the Institute of Structural Engineers in 2022.

Ed joined Barrett Mahony in 1994 as Head Technician, responsible for setting up technical draughting and modelling standards, training of technician staff and allocation of resources. Ed is also responsible for the IT infrastructure within the office.
Ed has gained extensive experience as BIM Engineer on a wide variety of projects including office, retail, residential, healthcare, educational, leisure, refurbishment and modular construction, for both private sector clients and public sector clients (including DoES). Notable projects include UCD Student Residences (2000 bed), Killeen Castle & Golf club development, and Clinical Research Facility NUIG.

Thomas joined Barrett Mahony in 2016. Prior to joining Barrett Mahony Thomas worked for Structural Engineering consultancies in Sydney and London. As a project engineer Thomas has been involved in a variety of different projects covering a full spectrum of structural engineering works including educational, residential, hotel, entertainment and conservation.
Notable recent projects include: Newmarket Square mixed development (150 bed hotel and 413 residential units), Little Mary Street - Stay City (350 bed hotel), The Frascati Shopping Centre redevelopment, Blackrock Co Dublin, and Marlin Hotel Dublin (302 beds).

Kate joined Barrett Mahony in 2017, having previously held the role of HR Manager working on various onshore LNG power station projects across Australia. Kate's current role covers all aspects of Human Resources for Barrett Mahony including Talent Management, Employment Law Compliance, Employee Relations, Training & Development and Performance Management. Kate is also heavily involved in the Bids & Marketing for the practice.

Since joining Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers, Conor has acted as Civil and Structural Engineer in a broad range of projects including residential, commercial and conservation. Notable projects include Office developments at Coppers Cross Commercial Dublin 1, & 20 Kildare Street Dublin 2 and Residential developments at TC1 and TC2 Cherrywood (750 units).
Conor was project engineer for 20 Kildare Street which won the ACEI Engineering Excellence Award for Medium Structural Project in 2023.

Darragh joined Barrett Mahony in 2013, and since joining has worked his way from Graduate Engineer to Associate and is a current member of the Civils Committee. Along the way Darragh has worked on a range of structural / civil projects in the private and public sectors. Notable projects include Montpelier Hill Student Housing Development (329 beds), Lidl Headquarters Tallaght, Archers Wood Delgany Apartments, No. 6 Hanover Quay and numerous Department of Education school projects.
Darragh was Project Engineer for the restoration of the historic No.14 Henrietta Street which won the ACEI Engineering Excellence Award for Medium Projects in 2019.

Peter joined Barrett Mahony in 2015, having previously worked in the civils contracting and highways consultancy sectors in Ireland and the UK. Peter’s areas of expertise include roads & streetworks, water and wastewater design, SuDS and stormwater infrastructure associated with new developments. Since joining Barrett Mahony, he has worked on a broad range of projects from single dwelling developments up to large multi-unit masterplan schemes, offices, schools, public parks, signalised junctions, roundabouts and road upgrade works for both private and public sector clients.
Peter has acted as Lead Civil Engineer for Barrett Mahony on several notable development projects during that time, including: UCD’s Student Residences Masterplan (over 3,000no. student beds); St. Kevin’s Hospital, Cork for The Land Development Agency (266no. units); and Cork City Council’s Northwest Quarter Regeneration Project (79no. units).
Peter is a Chartered Engineer and Member of Engineers Ireland. He also holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Project Management from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and is a certified Site Suitability Assessor for On-Site Domestic Wastewater Treatment Systems.

Robert joined Barrett Mahony in 2014, having previously worked as a Graduate Engineer with the Office of Public Works. Since joining Barrett Mahony, Robert has been a key member of the CPD committee and is Project Engineer for a wide variety of projects in the areas of conservation, office, residential and education. Robert was Project Engineer on the Guinness Enterprise Centre which won the ACEI Engineering Excellence Award for Medium Projects in 2022, as well as Project Engineer for the Eaton House redevelopment which was a runner-up in the ACEI Engineering Excellence Awards in 2016. Notable projects include UCD Village, Central Hotel, No. 5 Hanover Quay, 76 Sir John Rogerson's Quay and Brewer's Close Student Accommodation.
