Shane Linehan, a Director of our London office will be giving a presentation at the IStructE Headquarters tomorrow evening on – along with Patrick Hayes of IStructE and Michael Hough of MJH Structural Engineers.
Shane has led the structural design for a range of prestigious projects in London and Dublin. He has particular expertise in the design of high-rise modular structures and has been deeply involved in the research and development of the traditional construction elements of these projects over the past decade as modular construction reached the height of skyscrapers.
This lecture aims to outline the opportunities and challenges of using modular construction techniques for buildings up to 50 storeys high. They will discuss key considerations and interfaces when proposing and engaging with a modular solution for high-rise residential buildings, including:
